As you should already know, Michael Jackson passed away on the 25th of June.
Whether or not, he did those allegations he was accused of, he did after all had a massive music legacy behind him. From the Jackson 5 to albums like ‘Off The Wall’ and ‘Thriller’.
In honour, Makoto and Dave has released the original bootleg version with the full vocal, of their bootleg tune they made a few years back.
Sonar held it’s 16th festival dedicated to music and digital art last weekend. It is one of the most well-attended festivals in Europe bringing together like-minded individuals, professionals, musicians, artists and punters to simply share ideas, products and enjoy music. For 3 days, thousands will flock into the city of Barcelona (Spain) and soak themselves in the sun, music and multimedia art.
The festival is spread over 3 days, having 3 day events and 2 night events. The night events are almost like a massive rave by itself, easily filling up 3 major conference exhibition halls. We will try to summarize the event in a few posts, but definitely it’s one festival to experience yourself someday!

In the Sonar hall, we have got the more visually engaging musicians.
Highlights include Tim Exile + Jon Hopkins + Roland Olbeter, Micachu and The Shapes, Alva Noto and more.
In the Sonar Complex area, 2 acts we managed to catch were Institut Fatima and of course, Ben Frost. His set has the heaviest BASS of them all!
Got the latest Beatport emailer yesterday and saw Kiat’s latest release ‘Less Sugar’ / ‘Under The Influence’ being reviewed.

Influenza Media sees its second release by Kiat, one of the scene’s more intelligent styled producers. ‘Less Sugar’ is an aqueous journey that treads the realms of underwater, atmospheric drum & bass, characterized with its deep strings, minimal beats intelligent beat patterns. On the flip, ‘Under the Influence’ is an offbeat track, with a pulsating bass line and dangerous energy. Fans of Marcus Intalex should definitely investigate this further.
